Frequently Asked Questions

What should I bring to class?

A spirit of curiosity, fun and adventure! These workshops are very much designed to be be an opportunity for you and your child to explore and learn together. All materials are provided, which centre around a new theme each fortnight of our 10 week program.

How are the classes structured?

Our classes are 30 minutes long and follow a semi-structured format. Each week we will sing a 'Hello' and 'Goodbye' song to help the babies become familiar with the general rhythm of the class.

When we say semi-structured we mean that while each week has a general 'set-list' of activities, there remains a lot of flexibility to allow for both babies and parents to direct their attention to the materials and activities that interest them most.

This is an intentional choice. By allowing the time and space to explore and navigate natural curiosities, children (and parents) learn (and re-learn) to trust themselves and embrace their own interests.

Where are the classes located?

Our venue is Bardon Hall, located at 247b Simpsons Rd, Bardon. There is parking behind the hall and you can find more information about accessing that here: www.scienceminded.org/directions

There are toilets, a baby changing table and kitchen (with microwave & kettle) available at the premises.

What if I need to feed my baby?

We are a feeding friendly environment! If at any time you need to stop and feed (or settle, or change) your baby, please feel free to do so.

Additionally, if your little one becomes upset and needs a change of scenery you are completely welcome to walk outside and take advantage of the natural beauty Bardon Hall is situated in.

What if I miss a class?

We understand that with little ones, things happen. You will be able to reschedule your missed session for free at one of our other weekly sessions.

This term (Term 4), we have classes on Mondays at 1pm, Tuesdays at 12pm and Wednesdays at 1pm.
